DO NOT ADD TO OR TAKE AWAY FROM GOD'S WORD

Deuteronomy 4:2 "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take anything from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. (NKJV)

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of this prophecy of this book:  If anyone adds to these things , God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God  shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (NKJV)

Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to His words, lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar. (NKJV)

How do men add to and take away from God's word?

1. Men add to God's word by saying being baptized in water shall not saved you. [Mark 16:16....and is baptized shall be saved..]

2. Men add to God's word by saying it is not essential to believe in Jesus to have sins forgiven. [John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."] (NKJV)

3. Men add to God's word by saying that "for' in Acts 2:38 actually means "because your sins have already been forgiven"[ Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit]
